Using graphics to enhance a presentation
1. Keep it relevant
Add graphics that are relevant to the content. Don't just add graphics to make your slides look nice if you can avoid it.
2. Get the balance right
Try to strike a balance between the text and the images. Don't have the pictures too small or too large.
3. First impressions last
Grab the audiences attention with an eye catching first image
4. Enhance complex data
The audience can remember the information better when they can visualize it with the help of graphics
5. Keep it legible
If you want to overlay text over a picture you need to keep a good contrast level. If you cannot read the text you've gone for "pretty over practical".
